Word Balloon one: A long time ago, it was fortold that seven people would eventually come together to rid the world of an ancient evil. Little did anyone know that the evil was right below them….
Word Balloon two: Wait! Hold on, I thought we scrapped that?
Word Balloon one: No, you said we should, not me, as the artist and creator of the Action Union, I think I should have a say. And I'm keeping the entire cast.
Word Balloon two: Co-creator, remember I gave you some ideas. And all 23 main characters!? No one is going to read that, it's too much.

A Hispanic man with glasses is standing away from a drafting table. There is another man sitting at a laptop opposite him.
Artist: I'm going to smoke.
Writer: You always go to smoke! We need to finish this!
Panel 2
The artist is swiping his glasses on his T-shirt looking down at the writer.
Artist: You're not even writing! You're listing things on E-Buy!
Writer: Well if we didn't spend the first half of the night talking about YOUR love life we could have written. I can't believe that you are pushing this on me!
Artist: Fine, do what you want. I'll be back to draw whatever it is you tell me.
Panel 3
The artist is now on the balcony of what looks like an apartment building. He has a pack of cigarettes in one hand and a lighter in the other.
Artist(under his breath): …eight years with that guy and have we done anything? NOooooooooooo, should have stayed in technical college…….
Panel 4
The view should be from above, as if he is being watched.
Artist: I should just scrap everything and start over…..not like he liked anything anyway….

The Artist is now looking upward. Most of his face should now be in shadow, except for the cherry on his cigarette. His eyes should look as though they are studying something intently.
Artist: What is that….it looks like….

There is an annoyed looking teenager with his arms crossed. He is leaning against a door frame. He has a dark hair and is the only one at the gathering not dressed up.
Zack:What, Dad? I'm not like him? Feh, like I'd like to be some big tool. The only reason that everyone in this family falls over you, is because you can change your shape. Big deal. I get good grades ,stay out of trouble, and does anyone care?
Aiden's father: That's enough! You go back to your room with that attitude! Causing a scene on your brother's graduation! And stay there until you can be civil.

Aiden has one hand on his father's shoulder. His brother should be in the background walking away.

There is a girl also wearing a cap and gown hugging Aiden from behind. She has long blonde hair and she is all grins, around her shoulders is a sash that has the words valedictorian. Aiden's dad is grinning, Aiden looks slightly surprised.
Rachel: Aiden! There you are, I spend the last couple of hours looking for you! Hello, Mr. Christoph. My family, wants to congradulate you and tell you how proud they are that your going to Ax Corporations tomorrow!
Aiden: Nothing about moving to the Walsh district?
Rachel: Now…now.
Panel 6
Mr. Christoph is walking away, Rachel now with her arms around Aiden's neck is kissing him on the cheek. Aiden has a happy, but serious look on his face.
Aiden's father: I'll leave you kids alone, it was nice seeing you Rachel.
Rachel: Likewise, Mr. Christoph. So……when do you want to sneak off…….
Aiden: Rachel…can I talk to you in private, and just talk, no funny business.
Rachel:…Ok…sure

Aiden and Rachel are now in street clothes. Rachel is sitting on a swing set and Aiden is looking at her, hands in pocket.
Aiden:..Nice night. The moon is bright and full….
Rachel: you didn't want to talk about the weather did you? You had me worried when you said that you wanted to talk….

It is Aiden's face.
Aiden: No, you shouldn't be….well maybe a little scared, I…I'm just a little nervous about the move. I mean it's still Salvation but we are leaving Adam's Bluff to move into the Walsh district. That's where the action is.

Rachel's face
Rachel: Yes, but this is what you wanted. Look, Aiden, when you told me that you could change your form at will, I was freaked but supportive. I told you I would follow you to the ends of the earth. This is is your dream, and I am going with you, you won't be alone….

Rachel: Do you see that? I don't mean to interrupt but there on the monkey bars…..

Aiden and Rachel are walking to the monkey bars hand in hand.
Aiden: I….I don't know how to say this, I just want to know that you will be there for me, it's not going to be an easy life, being a superhero, but I just want you to know that if you leave, I understand. You will be busy with college and getting your life started, so I would understand, where did you see it?
Rachel: Up there near the top, it was weird glittery thing. Aiden, you know for a fact that would never happen, we have been together since 8th grade. If braces, puberty, and changing your shape hasn't broken us up yet nothing will.

Aiden is changing his shape to a monkey. Rachel is looking away.

Michael is sitting at a booth at the Java Cup. He is wearing a black hoodie and is looking over what appears to be a script. He has earbuds in, and is sipping from a tall foamy cup.

Michael is in the same position as the description.
Michael: You know, I heard you talking outside, you can have a seat.
Panel 2
He is taking out the earbuds and has a half smile at the man and woman sliding into the booth across from him. The woman has her hair pulled away from her face in a bun. She is wearing dark glasses. The man also wearing a hoodie is wearing dark glasses. There is something odd about his face, it appears more square that rounded.
Michael: I didn't think you'd show, honestly, I mean you missed graduation.
Marla: What and miss you moving back into town? I wouldn't have missed it, now if we weren't in Singapore on your graduation….
Motor Man: I already apologized for that, we were following a lead about a shipment of JR-4478 coming into the country. Did you get the cash I sent.
Michael: Yeah, thanks, by the way where did you get 10 grand?
Panel 3
The man is grinning and pulling on his sunglasses, one of his eyes has a red light shining through. The woman is smiling at Michael.
Motor Man: Drug dealers always have cash, they won't miss it. What do you need cash for when your operations been destroyed and your serving 20-30 on attempted murder and drug charges? I don't want to talk about work, kid, what's this news you got for us?
Marla: Wait, before you start, we haven't seen each other in almost a year, and I think there is an elephant in the room….OK, I'll go, where did you meet him?
Michael: That's what I have always liked about talking to you two, none of this beat around the bush BS, his name is Chris and we met in college. He is nothing like J.C. He is good to me, has a degree in accounting, wants to continue studying at the college here.

Motor Man and Marla are staring at Michael.

Michael:….And I ran 3 background checks, followed him around and did surveillance for a month. Credit, family, and background check out. And he doesn't know about me or you guys.
Marla: As in at all?

Michael is looking down at the script.
Michael: Well, he knows my parents died when I was fifteen, and that I was taken in for years by friends that I met through a "volunteer program". He also knows that you guys are like my parents, and I love you both very much.

Motor Man: Well, uh, yeah…You're like our son and we love you too.
Marla: When do we get to meet him? I can use my mental mojo to make us look "normal".
Michael: Well, soon, but I think I want to tell him…about everything, not too much and I will keep somethings private, but we've been together a year, and I think he needs to know if he is going to be in it for the long haul.

Marla and Motor Man are both looking at each other.
Marla: Uhm, Moto'….
Motor Man: Yeah, I got it, babe. Mike, you might wanna wait to tell him until you hear what I gotta say. Regal, he….he has been advertising. Seems like Keller wants to jump start a new Ax team. I was gonna tell you in my last letter, but Marla thought it would be best to tell you in person.
Marla: It's just that we knew you had a hard time with heroics after J.C., and I didn't know how you'd feel with a new bunch running around.
Michael: You could have told me, I'm not the weeping mess I was with J.C. I…am mostly over him. Look, guys, I appreciate you trying to protect me, but you don't have to. J.C.'s death…hurt, but it came with the territory, I don't think I could go through that again, but hey you two are careful and I don't think a super hero's life is for me anyway.

Marla is looking at Michael nervously.
Marla: Well….that isn't the only reason we didn't tell you in the letter. Regal has been acting a little strange, and you know we can't join again, as we are wanted outlaws now, so….
Michael: You wanted me to join?
Panel 4
Michael looks angry.
Michael: You want me to join the team to spy? Look, I love you both, but I am out of the life. I tried it, I lost someone special to me, I almost had my throat ripped out, I'm not going through it again.

Motor Man and Marla are both looking at him.
Marla: OK
Michael: Ok?
Motor Man: Look, kid, it doesn't hurt to ask. We did, you said no, life goes on. No biggie.
Marla: Look, we are not going to force you into anything you don't want to do. We didn't force you into the martial arts training or survival skills we taught you.

Man 2: No, maybe I would if you didn't ask me every coupla seconds.
Man 1: You held out of me last time, Charley. I don' wanna have another blanket incident.
Man 2: That blanket was mildewed, and I apologized for it a million times, let it go, will ya?
Off Panel voice: STOP! Not in my neighborhood, no one steals while….

There is a man standing with arms on hips. He is dressed in a patchwork costume of rags and his cape is a shower curtain. On his back are golf clubs, a baseball bat and a tennis racket, all stored in a backpack.
The Trashman:…THE TRASHMAN!

Both homeless men are looking at him bored.
Man 1: Unfreakin' believable.
Man 2: Yeah, ain't that somethin'?
Panel 4
The panel should be Trashman's face in shadow with the baseball bat obscuring parts of his face.
The Trashman: You dare scoff at the Trashman?! I will show you what kind of justice Salvation needs….

Man 1: Wow, now I have seen it all.
Man 2: OK, well let me get back in the dumpster and see what I can find.

The trashman is rushing toward them with the bat in his hand.
Trashman: STOP! JUSTICE WILL BE….
Panel 3
The Trashman is standing in his underwear(a jock with a cup). There should be motion lines around his body.
Trashman: Eh? What! No…how did this….

Jeffery is standing there. He is wearing an old pair of swimming goggles, his clothes are in rags, shoes are torn. In one hand he has the Trashman's clothes and the other he is holding a backpack full of items.
Jeffery: OK, Johanssen. Last week was the Compactor, the week before that was the Fecal Master, ew, and this week the Trashman? You are so running out of gimmicks, man. What are you gonna be next, the Scat Man?
Panel 4
Jeffery is now tying Johanssen's hands and feet up at superspeed.
Johanssen: You know nothing about justice! Why do you defend these lowlifes, you should join forces with me! Help me rid the fair city of Salvation of this blight of….
Jeffery: Look,pal, it's really hard to take someone seriously who waters down poo and loads it into a few water guns.
Johanssen: Every hero needs a beginning!
Jeffery:…and now we see proof that comics warp people's minds. Look, they aren't hurting anyone, you wanna help Salvation, get em a job.

Jeffery is talking to both homeless men.
Jeffery: There is a shelter on Mo Phlee Boulevard, Arms of Salvation, if you get there before 8, they can give you donated clothes and start you out with some day jobs, it should be good for a start.

Man 2: Yeah, thanks.
Off Panel voice: Not so fast…

There is a large redheaded man, he has a goatee and a smile on his face. He is older and is wearing a T-shirt with the words "Fight Stupidity" printed on it. He is holding two water bottles.
Collin: Walkin' down Mo Phlee, is a long walk, here take some water. .
Panel 7
Both homeless men are in the background now. Collin is leaning up against the back door of the Java Cup, Jeffery is tying his shoe.
Collin: I gotta hand it ta ye, ye got a heart o gold.
Jeffery: Nah, just doing what right, I mean, these guys are homeless, they need to get by somehow, they don't need a jerk who thinks he's a hero blasting them with crap, or running at them with a bat.
Collin: Crap? As in shite? Are ye serious?

Jeffery is now suppressing a giggle. Collin is smiling wide.
Jeffery: You know…I didn't think it was that funny, but now that you mention it….
Collin: What man in his hehehe right mind would….
Jeffery: HAHA I don't think he is in his right mind….You should have seen him….he had that Better Wetter Water Cannon filled with hahaha sewage and water and was just spraying people….Said it was 'time to flush the dingleberries of crime'…HAHAHAHA

Collin: Look, lad, I appreciate what yer doin' and these lil' meetin's that we keep havin are nice, but when are ye gonna let me help ye? I mean, ye need it as much as the people yer trying to help. Look, no funny stuff, just wanna make sure you get back on your feet.
Jeffery: Look, Collin, thanks and all but this is my responsibility and I wouldn't feel right, me getting help while there are so many people on the streets that need it.

Collin, still serious, is looking at Jeffery.
Collin: Do ye honestly believe that? I mean, you're not just blowing smoke up my arse?
Jeffery: Yes, I really do believe that. I have to believe that if you have powers or the ability to help, you should. What's the point in having abilities if you just gonna waste em.

Jeffery is smiling at Collin who is smiling back at him.
Collin: Ye have heard the rumors of Ax…
Jeffery: Not even going there, Collin. They are too…big movie budget type stuff. I am happy helping the homeless and small crimes. I mean someone has to do it, right? Plus, I'm just a fast guy, my feet need to stay on the ground.

It is a crowed bus, with a young girl with long blonde hair reading a large brown book. She seems lost in thought. She is wearing a tank top with lots of necklaces, and has lots of rings on her fingers. Next to her is a woman who has fallen asleep, she is quite overweight, and is dressed conservately. To her left, is a blind man who is standing upright holding a cane.
Panel 1
Aurora:….."Tsrathows"….
Man: You shouldn't read to that outloud.
Aurora: Excuse Me?
Old Man: That's the Book of Mythic Spells, isn't it? I can tell that it's the 7th edition by your inflection. Man, they sure did make a lot of changes in the 17th century.
Aurora:Uhm….how do you know what I'm reading?
Old Man: I co-wrote one of the chapters in that grimore. The section on summoning and familiars. I'm Beezle, Mage of the Soul Circle Coven. And you're Aurora, Mage of the Fire Fairy Coven. I dreamed we would meet on this bus, although why I'm taking a bus when I could teleport….
Panel 2
Aurora is now turned to him. She has a puzzled look on her face.
Aurora: I used to have those dreams too….
Beezle: I know you did. My dreams told me that too, you're looking for the thing that killed your coven aren't you?
Aurora: You know about my coven?
Panel 3
Beezle is smiling and looking in her direction.
Aurora: How did you know?
Beezle: Once there were a lot of us. Magic users, that is. There were covens all over the place and then at the turn of this century, something has been causing the deaths of many. Some of the remaining mages are going to Salvation to congregate, as the thing hasn't been able to get into the city.
Aurora: The thing?

Beezle: Yes, a thing. What happened to your visions girl? Don't you feel it?
Aurora: After my sisters were killed, I lost it. They died protecting me from whatever it was. I inherited the Staff-
Beezle: Don't say the name of the staff outside of Salvation!

Aurora is now shocked, Beezle is now angrily looking at her.
Aurora: Did I anger you? I didn't…
Beezle: Look, girly, for some reason the city of Salvation is a haven for magic and all its users, objects and tomes. Outside the city, any object with magic infused in it will attract attention. So whatever it is you have, save it until the bus arrives.
Aurora:I-I didn't know…
Beezle: Did your covenmates tell you anything about magic?

Aurora is looking at him and talking, she is clutching what appears to be a locket around her neck.
Aurora: Well, no…I was orphaned and they took me in, I just kind of started learning stuff when I got older. The others could do the same things I could, but they said I would soon surpass them. Then that night….I woke up and there was a sigil of protection around my cottage but my sisters were dead. The rest of the area….
Beezle: Burned to a crisp? That's how it happened to me actually. I woke up blind. You lost your sight. The lady that is asleep next to you woke up and couldn't imagine anymore. We all lost some form of sight. Our covens are dead, gone.
Panel 7
Aurora is now looking very serious.
Aurora: That's why I'm going to Salvation, I'm looking for a certain item, one which can show me how to defeat….
Beezle: Don't. I mean don't look for it, I haven't dreamed of it, but know that all who have sought it out have failed. And have gone mad for trying. It's a kind of question and quest situation.
Aurora: I don't understand.
Beezle: Well, it's like you have to go out and seek it officially declare..
Aurora: No, I know what a quest is, I mean questions and answers. If you run out of answers, why not change the question? We are mages, that should count for something. Our world doesn't exactly mesh with the other kinds of peoples around here.
Panel 8
Beezle is smiling.
Beezle: Point taken. I like you kid. When we get to Salvation, look me up. I'm staying at Tricks, it's a bathhouse with a twist.
Aurora: Uhm, what's a bathhouse?
Beezle: Not a question for a lady of your age and stature, let's just say that there is a very good reason I'm staying at such a seedy place. When you get there, what are your plans?

Aurora: Research this "thing" and try to find a way to defeat it. Maybe try to join a new coven.

Beezle is talking.
Beezle: You seem like an adventurous young lady, maybe a super hero team?
Aurora: What?! No, no… wearing spandex and smiling for cheering norms is not my thing. I want my life to go back to the semi-normalcy it had before. Besides, Ax has disbanded.
Beezle: Not so fast! Dreams tell me that they are soon to be restarting with a new line up. Maybe you can form a coven of your own ,if you don't join.
Aurora: Again, I don't see myself being forced to stop rampaging idiots at three in the morning. Besides, I want to know why my sisters are dead.
Panel 3
Beezle is now smiling at her again. The lady on the otherside of Aurora is now awake.
Beezle: Get back to studying your book, missy, you'll need it.
Aurora: Thank you, sir, I will and I will look you up.
Panel 4
The lady is now gone as is Beezle. Aurora is looking up directly at two passengers who noticed that those sitting around her have disappeared.
Aurora: What?

There are four figures looking at a board room table with pictures littered all over the top.
One of the figures is a bald woman wearing a purple costume(Orchid). Another is a woman with dirty blonde hair in a business suit(Deborah Keller), Next is a man completely in shadow(Lasombra), next to him is a man with stars in his hair and costume(Captain Regal).
Deborah: Well, that's it, that's all the potential members and you cut all of them.
Orchid: May we should stick with a trio until other worthy candidates appear.
Deborah: Orchid, there are no more. We went through 200 known parahumans in Salvation. Let's take another look at my picks.
Orchid: What, the homeless boy and the woman who spits acid? No, thank you. We don't need riff raff on this team. I believe that will send the wrong signals about the company and this team.
Lasombra: I agree. You asked up to participate in your little group. I don't believe any of the three of us should be forced to work with rookie members…..
Deborah: Look, can the attitudes. My father and I agreed that this would be an excellent opportunity to teach the younger and inexperienced parahumans of the city. If we can guide them, that may slow parahuman crime which has been on the rise…
Panel 2
Regal is standing now, glaring at Deborah.
Captain Regal: No, We slow parahuman crime. We should lead and teach by example. I believe what Lasombra and Orchid are trying to get across to you is that there is no potential in any of these people. If we are really going to make a difference, we need to form a strike force. We need heavy hitters, we shouldn't be tied down to teaching and training new members. If your family really want to make a difference, then those are the terms.

Deborah is glaring back at Regal.
Deborah: Those are your terms?! You act as though you are doing us a favor with your presence. This is to benefit the city and the parahuman population at large. I stand firm, we get rookies/
Regal: You get them, and we walk. Pure and Simple. Then where would your team be then?

Evelyn:..Ok, so Tiff, what is on my itinerary when I get to Salvation?
Tiff: When we get to Salvation. I told you, you may not have much need for me there, but I'm still your assistant and I'm going with you. Besides, you're my meal ticket.

Evelyn: You know what I like about you, Tiff? You have never lied to me and your loyal. Strange that you're in this business, but I'm glad to have you.

Evelyn is looking at Tiff with a look of disgust on her face.
Evelyn: No, no, no. Cancel that. He has been trying to get me to join his little super hero group for months now. He is planning on wining and dining me. I swear, just because I'm leaving the business doesn't mean I'm ready to jump into gawdy couture and start chasing purse snatchers throughout Salvation.
Tiff: Noted, I will contact his assistance and cancel.

Evelyn: Please do!. HAHA, can you imagine? Evelyn Davis joins Ax, raises the bar in spandex fashion! HAHA, Really, the only way I would join was if Jesse's began designing leather costumes and there were rampaging maniacs in Salvation, and believe me honey that ain't happening.

It is the inside of a police station. Sgt. Janet Ling is writing paperwork out by hand. She is an African-American woman with almond shaped eyes and straight hair. Her desk is a disaster area. On her desk should be a name plate that reads: Sgt Janet Ling-Head of Parahuman Affairs. The only decoration on her desk is a picture frame, but the picture is not visible. There are 2 empty desks behind her, and only one other desk with 2 other officers.
Panel 1
Chief Stephen Reeves is approaching with James Huber in tow. Reeves is holding 2 large file folders.
Reeves: Janet, got a minute?
Janet: No, but sit anyway, I will done in a moment.
Panel 2
Janet is now looking up at him and James.
Janet: Got another one for me? Hopefully, this one will last longer that the last four. Hi, I'm Janet Ling, department head, I don't do job titles and I talk about people as if they are not in the room. You must be Detective James Huber. I read your file and background check, good stuff, sorry about your wife, have a seat when Reeves gets up. You'll be working directly with me. Is that it, Stephen? Are we still on for dinner tonight? I need to file this before processing has my @$$.

James is looking shellshocked and Reeves has an amused grin.
Reeves: Yes, Li called and said she can't make it of course. Ta'kara is excited, her new boyfriend is coming. That's not it actually. You are getting a case transferred over.
Janet: Homicide? Are we sure that its parahuman related?
Reeves: Here, take a look at the file…

Reeves is standing and gesturing for James to sit.
Janet: The puncture wounds healed themselves hours after death? Did the coroner photograph…
Reeves: It's all in the file, yes. Five of the six victims were female and found bloodless with multiple puncture wounds around the neck, wrist, upper thighs, and buttocks. Toxicology shows the presence of anticoagulants, a stimulant they haven't been able to nail down yet, and trace amounts of a weird topical substance, they feel might be a type of lotion or cream, but they cross referenced known ingredients and there have been no matches. Autopsy shows that the blood was actually sucked out through the multiple wounds, so the organs collapsed. However, to have that much force, someone would have had to have pumped them out at high speed. A lot of the organs weren't recognizable.
James: Excuse me, you said five out of six victims. What about the sixth?
Janet: Good question, does the M.O. deviate?

Reeves has a half grin on his face.
Reeves: The pictures are there. Young male comic artist, he was working on that stupid comic that everyone is reading K-Girl and Kid Alpha. At first we thought it was the writer that had killed him, as the artist wanted to change direction into more serious stuff, then the wounds began to disappear. His neck has been torn out, heart missing. The bodies were normally found bloodless, but this one was lying in a pool of it. Additionally, the victims are found in dark alleys, rooftops, fields, out of the way places. This one, the writer, was inside of his apartment not more than 10 feet away. He never heard anything. There…now you almost don't need to read the file.

Janet is looking at him and passing the file to James.
Janet: I'll make priority for James and I. Here, read over this and prepare a timeline, I want to know exactly when, how long between, and a more detailed area of the location of the bodies. I want to know exactly what we are dealing with.
James: It sounds like a vampire.
Reeves: HAHA

Janet is serious and looking at Reeves. James has the file open and is making notes.
Janet: If I didn't know better, I'd believe it. Tell Rebecca that I will be at dinner, but I'm going to be late. I want to have a preliminary investigation report done by the end of the day.

The newly formed Ax team is on site to assist with the rioters, however there have been reports that as many as 20 inmates may have escaped.

Aurora is looking as speed lines begin to grab the crowd.
